The Fifth Ordinary Provincial Assembly began on January 06, 2016, with a recollection preached by Rev. Fr. Jegath Gaspar, Tamil Maiyam, Chennai. He, by way of introducing the theme of the Assembly, invited the participants, to remain rooted to the legacy left behind by the Pallottine confreres all over the world, since the time of St. Vincent Pallotti. He reiterated that the mission of Christ could still be possible, if we remained faithful to the Lord who called, and, to the people who we were called to serve.
The Inaugural Ceremony of the Fifth Provincial Assembly began at 3.00 p.m. with the prayer service animated by Fr. Maria Vara Prasad, and the lighting of the lamp by the Very Rev. Fr. Rector General, Very Rev. Fr. Provincial, first consultor Fr. James Joseph, Jubilarian Fr. Albert Leenus and student of Theology Bro. David Amalraj. Fr. Provincial extended a cordial welcome to all the participants, very specially to Very Rev. Fr. Rector General and General Procurator Fr. Vitaliy Gorbytakh, and declared the Assembly formally open.
The evening session began at 6.00 p.m. Fr. Provincial presented the Report of the ABVM Province. The moderators then closed the proceeding of the day.
