An Ongoing Formation Program for the priests, who have completed 15 to 25years (ordained in the years 1991 to 2000) of their priestly life, was held at Pallotti Home, Chicalim, Goa, from November 17 to 20, 2015. This program was conducted by the PSFI (Permanent Secretariat for Formation in India), for all the three Provinces. Members from all the three entities attended it. It was an enriching experience to spend time together, to share each other experiences, at the same time, to take time and to reflect, at one’s vocation with gratitude as a precious gift from God.
During the days of the program, the members were engaged into reflecting over their priestly lives, to appreciate first and foremost the gift of their vocation, and as they are journeying into their mid-life, it was also a time to ponder on the fruits of mid-life and likewise its challenges. A lot of time was spend at re-looking and assessing the Pastoral ministry, as to how each one was responding and reacting to the Church, and the world at large, while they engage themselves in their pastoral ministry. All this was done in light of the pastoral treasure Pope Francis has placed before the church in the last year or so. Finally it was through the scripture that one can learn to be good shepherd’s, after The Good Shepherd, Jesus Himself. During these four days the members witnessed a lively, friendly and also an enjoyable atmosphere. We thank Fr. Valentine and other members of PSFI for organizing this program and Pallotti Home Community for hosting the program.
